The goal of the project is to increase the number of STEM* teachers who

  • understand the concept of "gender schemas" and the ways in which they often operate unconsciously
  • understand how gender schemas affect the perceptions, expectations, and behavior of teachers and their male and female students
  • take steps to ensure female student engagement in mathematics, science, and computer classrooms
