OUR LOCATION

The Midwest Equity Assistance Center, first established in 1978, is one of 10 regional Equity Assistance Centers in the country. These centers are funded by the U.S. Department of Education under Title IV of the 1964 Civil Rights Act. They provide assistance in the areas of Race, Gender, and National Origin equity to public schools to promote equal educational opportunities for all students.

The Center, located on the Kansas State University campus in Manhattan, KS., serves a four-state region - Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska. Public schools, including charter and magnet schools, in the region are eligible to become client districts.

At the request of schools, school districts, and state departments, center staff provide a variety of free Services including professional development workshops, seminars, conferences, inservice training, technical assistance, and information dissemination.
